Guidelines for Postgraduate Applicants
(Master’s Degree Entry Requirements – Sri Lanka & International Standards)
Overview
Admission to a Master’s degree at HDI CAMPUS is governed by both Sri Lankan Qualifications Framework (SLQF) and internationally recognized standards such as ISCED, RQF, and EQF. The aim is to ensure that students entering postgraduate studies have the academic foundation, professional readiness, and language proficiency necessary for advanced study.
General Entry Requirements
To be eligible for admission into a Master’s degree program, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
(a) Recognized Bachelor’s Degree (ISCED Level 6 / SLQF Level 5–6)
A 3 to 4-year undergraduate degree from a recognized university in a relevant field of study.
Local or foreign university degrees accredited by relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., UGC, foreign ministry, or recognized accreditation councils).
(b) Professional Qualifications Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree
Completed qualifications such as:
CIMA – Chartered Institute of Management Accountants
ACCA – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
BIT – Bachelor of Information Technology (UoC or equivalent)
PCN – The Chartered Institute for Technology, Business & Languages
These must be certified as equivalent to a degree (SLQF Level 6 or ISCED Level 6) by a recognized authority or internal academic board.
(c) Postgraduate Diploma – Level 7 Qualification
A completed Postgraduate Diploma (SLQF Level 7 / RQF Level 7 or equivalent) in a relevant area of specialization.
(d) Mature Entry Pathway (Age 30+)
Candidates aged 30 years or above with:
An Advanced Diploma or Higher National Diploma (SLQF Level 4 or 5)
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional or managerial experience
Subject to an internal academic assessment and interview
2. Language Proficiency Requirement
All instruction is delivered in English. Therefore, applicants must meet one of the following:

Applicants not meeting the requirement may be offered conditional admission with the requirement to follow a pre-sessional English course or take the internal test.
3. Research-Based Master’s Degrees
If you are applying for an MSc (by Research), MPhil, or any research-oriented Master’s program, you may be required to submit:
A brief Research Proposal (1–2 pages)
Research interest areas
Relevant experience or publications (if any)
4. Additional Notes (Sri Lanka & International Norms)
All foreign qualifications must be attested by the respective foreign ministry and embassy in Sri Lanka.
Entry qualifications must be in line with:
Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF)
International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED)
Regional Qualification Frameworks (e.g., RQF – UK, EQF – Europe)

Conduct interviews
Evaluate equivalency of qualifications with the Academic Board
5. Required Documents for Admission
Certified copy of Bachelor’s Degree certificate / equivalent
Transcript of academic records
Passport/NIC copy
Updated CV / Resume
Professional qualification certificates (if applicable)
Language proficiency proof (IELTS/TOEFL/PCN)
Research Proposal (if applicable)
6. Declaration on Concurrent Enrollment
All applicants must sign a declaration confirming they are not enrolled in any other full-time postgraduate degree simultaneously. This is required to ensure compliance with SLQF standards and international recognition.
